WhatsApp wedding invitation messages

Most of your family already lives on WhatsApp, so that is where your invitation will actually be read. Below is wording you can copy for every stage, from the first invite to the thank-you. Replace the parts in square brackets.

Before you send

  • Greet people the way your family does: “Dear Uncle & Aunty” or “Dear Meera Aunty”, not full legal names.
  • Send one message per household, not one per person.
  • Include a link to your wedding website so guests can see the details and RSVP for each event.
  • Give an RSVP-by date. People reply faster when there is one.
  • Call your closest elders first. Many families still expect a phone call or a printed card before the WhatsApp message.

Sending to hundreds of guests

Copying a message into three hundred chats from your own phone is slow, and it is easy to miss someone. With Pyaar & Prema’s WhatsApp invitations you set each household’s greeting once and send from a verified business account, so your personal number is never used. RSVP reminders and a reminder before each event with the timeline and seating can go out automatically.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. It is now common for Indian weddings, especially for guests abroad. For close elders, many families still call first or deliver a printed card, then follow up on WhatsApp with the link.

A greeting that feels personal, the couple’s names, the dates and city, a link with the full event details, and an RSVP-by date.

A link is easier to keep up to date: if a venue or time changes, guests always see the latest details, and they can RSVP in the same place. You can still send a card image alongside it.

Use a tool that sends from a WhatsApp business account, with one message per household and a personal greeting for each, instead of broadcasting from your own number.
